Allison Muehlenbeck is a Masters in Public Policy student at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, concentrating in Democracy and Political Institutions. This summer, she will work with the Women, Peace and Security program at Club of Madrid, a non-governmental organization devoted to developing democratic values and leadership around the world. As a Council of Women World Leaders Fellow, she will primarily focus on helping to develop mechanisms to maximize the participation and contribution of women in national and regional peace and political dialogues in the Greater Horn of Africa.
Prior to attending the Kennedy School, Allison worked as the Communications Manager for EMILY's List, the United States' largest political action committee devoted to women's political fundraising and campaign strategy. A native of Southern California, she received dual Bachelors degrees in Communications and Women's Studies from Denison University in 2006.
