Emily Moore

Emily is currently a graduate student at Columbia University’s School of Social Work. She has a focus in clinical social work, particularly using TF-CBT (Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy). Prior to pursuing an MSW she taught 5th and 6th grade in Brooklyn, NY and in Philadelphia, PA through Teach for America. She also has experience teaching English abroad in China and India. Emily received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a citation in International Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park. Emily’s career goal is to aid in providing equal opportunities in education, social and emotional welfare for all children domestically and internationally. Her relevant academic interests include exploring the use of CDAs (Child Development Accounts) for poverty reduction, using TF-CBT for children experiencing PTSD as a result of being in an area of war or violence.
