Jeri Stroupe is an Masters of Public Health candidate in the Department of Health Management and Policy and is completing her summer fellowship at the Ministry of Health in Berlin, Germany. Prior to pursuing her Masters she worked for two years doing social and behavioral research on the effects of early-stage Alzheimer's on driving, as well as barriers to licensure among teens. She has also worked at Global REACH studying health services utilization among pregnant women and human resources for health in Ghana. She is interested in how government policies and social marketing can shape and improve the health of populations, particularly regarding prevention and the social determinants of health.
Jeri graduated in 2007 from Miami University in Ohio where she studied Exercise Science and Spanish, and developed her interest in public health during a study abroad program in France and Switzerland. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to work abroad through this fellowship in order to gain a better understanding of national and international approaches to public health and the political processes in other countries and the European Union.
