Jinnyn Jacob is a Belfer Fellow and a Master in Public Policy candidate at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, where she is focusing on International and Global Affairs. She is pleased to be spending this summer at the Secretariat of the Council of Women World Leaders in Washington DC.
Prior to attending the Kennedy School, Jinnyn worked in the fields of education and women’s development in Mexico, Turkey and Qatar. As a teacher in Mexico, she created a program that provides female orphans with education in English, leadership and civic participation. She continued working with women as a Fulbright Fellow in Turkey where she researched youth civil society and the importance of women’s issues in the country. She most recently worked in the Gulf state of Qatar, establishing the International Affairs Department at Qatar University. At the university, she created initiatives to increase women’s leadership opportunities and promote youth political and civic participation. Jinnyn received a Bachelor Degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 2004 and is proficient in Turkish and Spanish.
