Rachel Tulchin is a Graduate Fellow at the Albright Stonebridge Group in Washington, D.C. A recent Master in Public Policy graduate from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Rachel concentrated her studies on political and economic development, with a specific interest in Sub-Saharan Africa and women's rights. Prior to the Harvard Kennedy School, she worked at the Guttmacher Institute, a think-tank based in New York that advances sexual and reproductive health worldwide.
Her previous experience includes working at the State Department's Somalia Unit at the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, as well as a year in Geneva, Switzerland, conducting advocacy on women's role in peacekeeping for the NGO Femmes Africa Solidarité. Rachel graduated summa cum laude from Tufts University in 2004, where she majored in international relations and spent her junior year abroad in Kenya and Spain. Following her fellowship at the Albright Stonebridge Group this summer, Rachel will head to the State Department to work as a foreign affairs officer in the Office of Global Women's Issues.
