The Council met with a small group of Ministers of Health and their staff to develop an action plan for the Ministerial Consultative Network, a select group of Ministers of Health that will consult to the office of the World Health Organization’s Director-General on issues related to women’s health.
The Council took the opportunity to share with the Network the progress made within the Ministerial Leadership Initiative for Global Health (MLI) funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to the Council and its partners, Realizing Rights: The Ethical Globalization Initiative and the Health Financing Task Force. This spring, the MLI partners selected five developing countries from a competitive applicant pool to receive four years of technical and leadership training for the Ministries of Health within these countries.
