Laura Liswood, Secretary General of the Council, moderated an in-depth discussion on the 2009 Presidential Inauguration, as part of the Washington Leadership Series at the Aspen Institute. The panel included Emmett Beliveau, Executive Director of the Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC), and Thomas Groppel, Director of Ceremonies for the Armed Forces Inaugural Committee, who discussed the specific challenges of what is expected to be the largest inaugural event the nation has ever seen and the challenges the city, the PIC and other organizing parties are facing.
