Our Gender and Public Policy Graduate Fellowship Program places graduate students in the offices of world leaders for 10-12 week periods. The Council has administered this successful and unique program for 10 years, placing over 140 graduate students in the offices of Council members, cabinet ministers, and international organizations around the world. Fellows have opportunity to gain a unique perspective on leadership, gender issues, and public policy, and also to contribute to the work of his or her placement office by engaging in substantive projects over the course of the fellowship. Examples of projects have ranged from training women peace builders in post-conflict nations to facilitating interactions between international policymakers.
These fellowships were created in pursuit of the Council’s mission to build the capacity of emerging leaders by engaging them in collective action on issues of critical importance to women.
"I was inspired by women at the Albright Group such as Wendy Sherman and of course, Dr. Albright herself, that the best path from Point A to Point B isn't necessarily the straightest or easiest path, rather one that will teach you the most along the way. This kind of thinking was definitely a factor in taking on my current position [at Operation Smile.] "
