UN Secretary General Announces
the Appointment of Margot Wallstrom
as UN Special Representative
On February 2, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appointed Margot Wallstrom, Chair of the Council’s Ministerial Initiative, to serve as his Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict. This appointment comes in response to the Security Council’s request to provide more coherent and strategic leadership to address sexual violence in armed conflict.
