Fellowship Program for Emerging Women Leaders
from the South Pacific Island States Testimonials

"The whole programe in its different contexts had significant specificities to my current position. A basic example like the style of instruction used was indicative of the high expectation of executive leaders to be well informed of situations before they make decisions. The governance models used, the leadership challenges in communications and dealing with the media, the academic perspective in applying learning, the getting “on the balcony” concepts, the engendering of participation through the Global Council of Women Leaders involvement to enhance women leaders from developing countries to attend, the collegial exchange and the overwhelming learning on the varying perspectives from the many regions of the world."

"Overall, the program has broadened my worldview! Being exposed to a group of potential world leaders, to new management ideas and to the faculty professionals was a wonderful experience. It confirms my beliefs that there is no one way of doing things – the best you can do is to understand the various pieces of the puzzle when making a decision! The program in general has enhanced my analytical and strategic management skills and my ability to handle technical challenges in my organisation where “staying ahead” is the key to success!"

"There is no doubt that the training has been very valuable to me both at the work place and in my community engagements. It has given me a sense of direction as I come to understand my role better. Personally, it has given me a lot of pride from attending such a prestigious institution which in itself has built in me."

"Personally, I found the programme as a dynamic, very real, practical and an empowering experience. Now that I reflect back at all the programs, the courses are structured that, one way or another has specific applications in my work as well as other community social work that I do and will also help me in my future aspirations to support women in my country and community to promote the emergence of gender equity in political governance."
